To introduce myself, my name is Evelyn Tiernan and I am a practicing studio artist and production designer from Dublin, Ireland (now living in Berlin) who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Fine Art in 2004 from G.M.I.T where I specialised in the medium of paint. For my final Degree shows I created 3-dimensional paint installations. This meant using the four walls of my exhibition space to build a painting where the viewer steps into. See photos here.

While studying Fine Art, I was awarded a place on an Erasmus and Socrates Programme, an initiative by the European Commission for Higher Education, where I spent three months painting and exhibiting in Denmark.

Following years of exhibiting, private commissions and spray painting walls, I went on to graduate in 2008 with a Masters of Science Degree in Applied Digital Media where I was awarded a 1st Class Honours result (summa cum laude). For my final Dissertation by Practice I created an interactive documentary on the electronic music scene and graffiti art scene in Dublin city. It was here I found a love for making video.

Since then I have worked as the Senior Content Producer and Editor for The Irish Times website www.Ireland.com (now sold to Tourism Ireland) where I was responsible for the nomination, shortlisting and finalist of the Ireland Web Awards 2010 for Best Entertainment Channel.

Following my role with The Irish Times, I spent a year in New York City working as content producer and writer for IrishCentral.com, and as video production assistant for VBS.tv (VICE) and Pitchfork TV as well as artist assistant to David Hochbaum at his East Village studio.

I’m now living in Berlin and working on various creative projects beside my career field of Content Production.

Bang On Walls is basically just a log of collaboration projects I’ve worked on, production design work, and some of my studio work, also features photos from exhibitions I visit. Here you can visit my website www.evelyntiernan.com.

All photos on Bang On Walls are taken by me unless obviously aren’t.

So in the meantime…
